Care & Maintenance

Properly caring and maintaining the aesthetic and structure of our pavers is highly suggested. With aggregate being a part of our mixture we highly recommend cleaning your pavers following construction and sealing them directly after that to maintain the look and feel of the pavers.

Cleaning

Cleaning following an installation is vital to immediate aesthetics while also prepping for sealant application.

Sealing

Applying a recommended sealer not only keeps our pavers looking their best but protects from natural degradation.

Ongoing Cleaning

Properly maintaining your pavers will keep the surface and pores from absorbing any of natures elements and allow the sealer to last as long as possible.

Ongoing Maintenance

Depending on what joint filler you used on your project and if you sealed your pavers, ongoing care will keep your investment protected.

Care & Maintenance Guide

Care

We recommend storing your Barefoot Pavers in a dry, covered location before installation and sealing. As
soon as you receive the pavers, make sure to remove any shipping covers, except for the straps.

To maintain the quality of the product, the pavers must be protected during storage. Avoid damage by
laying out all pavers after opening each pallet, which helps prevent uneven drying. If the pavers are
exposed to rain or other precipitation before installation and sealing, they might develop streaks or
efflorescence.

Note that some streaking is a natural outcome of the unique handcrafting process used in manufacturing
our pavers. However, improper storage prior to installation and sealing could lead to additional
unwanted streaking caused by weather conditions.

To keep the finish intact, never acid-wash your pavers unless using the Barefoot Pavers cleaning kit.
Instead, clean them with a non-acidic detergent or soap before applying any sealer.

Avoid pressure-washing the pavers, as it can damage the surface.

Barefoot Pavers strongly advises sealing the pavers with a high-quality sealer, such as Frogskin, SureBond
4000 or SureBond 6000. Always adhere to the manufacturer's recommendations when using sealers.
Remember that most stain repellants require 24-48 hours to fully develop their repellency.

Uses

Our pavers are most commonly used as pool decking or patio surfacing. The pitting and surface texture
of the concrete allows for great slip resistance. Concrete is a porous material that does not repel water.
As a result, pooling of excess water is incredibly uncommon. Our recommended sealers do not take away
from the slip resistance of our product.
